This lady was very embarrassed by her smile as some teeth were missing at the top and the lower ones were broken. She avoided smiling and laughing but finally plucked up the courage to do something about it.

Firstly I’d like to say how amazing all the staff are. They put me at ease from my first visit and I knew from the first consultation I’d found a dentist I was finally happy with. All people say this but I really do feel silly about how long I put it off with nerves!

This patient had a ‘smile makeover’ done abroad on her top teeth but was not happy with the results, plus her teeth had since become painful. When I examined her, the crown and bridgework was very thick and heavily backed with metal, plus mostly joined together in a few large segments instead of single teeth. This meant that the patient couldn’t floss and so her gums were getting inflamed and unhealthy.

We took off all the newly fitted restorations, settled the teeth down and provided new individual metal free crowns, to give a much more delicate and natural looking result.

This young woman wanted whiter straighter teeth and to get rid of the gap in the middle. As her teeth were in very good shape anyway, veneers were provided with minimal preparation i.e just a fraction of a millimetre was sanded from the fronts of her teeth prior to fitting the new ideal shape and colour porcelain veneers of ideal shape and colour.

This lady had some very bad experiences with dentists from a young age. Most of her upper teeth at the back on both sides were extracted and she was never offered root canal treatment which could have saved them. Unfortunately, all that ill-advised tooth pulling had left Trisha with hardly any bone and a narrow upper arch.

It was a long treatment plan of two years, comprising bone grafting and sinus lift, multiple implant placement, gum recontouring of the upper front teeth, porcelain veneers on the top and new metal free crown and bridgework on the lowers. It was an extremely challenging case but the patient is happy and we are very proud of the results.

"I wrecked my teeth as a child because I had a really sweet tooth but was too terrified to go to the dentist. I’ve recently started modelling but could not show my teeth when I smiled on any of the pictures. It got so bad and painful in my mouth that I couldn’t carry on and had to pluck up the courage to get my teeth sorted but even the thought of it scared me to death!

I found Apollonia Dental & Cosmetic Centre on Rodney Street, Liverpool through the Dental Phobia website. When I called they were so nice and helpful on the phone that I booked for a free consultation.

I didn’t sleep a wink the night before but as soon as I got there they were so warm and friendly that I knew instantly that I’d chosen to the right place for me.

They really understood my anxiety and how to get me through it even though it was obvious that I needed an awful lot of treatment.

I was offered sedation but in the end they just treated me with kid gloves and plenty of care and understanding and got my mouth really healthy. Then I went ahead with the cosmetic work and I had it all done without any need for sedation at all. I cannot believe where I am now and I could not be more thrilled with the results. My confidence is at an all-time high and now I love showing my beautiful smile on my modelling shoots. I could not recommend Apollonia and the wonderful dentists there any more highly and would encourage anyone, no matter how scared, to go there and see for yourself. You will not regret it – if I can do it anyone can!"
